There are so many things that make your senior year yours.

Maybe it's the sport you've played since you were little. Your horse. Your truck. The guitar that's always in your room. The lake you've spent every summer at. Your favorite downtown spot. The family farm. The outfits you feel incredible in.

Or maybe you don't have a theme at all—and that's completely okay.

We'll create a session around who you are, not around trying to recreate someone else's senior pictures.

Your session can be laid-back, adventurous, editorial, playful, simple, or a little bit of everything. We'll choose locations and plan outfits that give you variety while still making the entire gallery feel cohesive.

The end result? Senior photos that actually feel like your senior year.

This Is Your  Year

The Senior Experience

More than showing up and smiling for the camera.

You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need to have your entire session planned before you inquire. And you definitely don't need to worry about being “photogenic.”

That's my job.

I'll help you plan a senior session that feels personal to you, from choosing locations to deciding which outfits will photograph best. Once we're actually shooting, I'll guide you when you need it while giving you room to move, laugh, and be yourself.

Expect a mix of those classic senior portraits everyone needs and the candid, personality-filled images that make your gallery feel alive.

The goal isn't to make you look like someone else.

It's to photograph you feeling your absolute best.

Your Session, Your Way

Locations That Mean Something

Minnesota gives us no shortage of incredible places for senior photos. Fields and farms, lakeshores, small towns, city streets, wooded trails, wildflowers and everything in between.

We'll choose locations based on the look you're drawn to and the places that make sense for your story.

Want something rural and laid-back? We can do that.

Dreaming of something more editorial downtown? Absolutely.

Want both?

Even better.

Outfits That Feel Like You

Your outfits are one of the easiest ways to bring variety and personality into your senior gallery.

Depending on your session, we can incorporate multiple looks—from something casual that feels like your everyday style to a dressier outfit that gives your gallery a completely different feel.

I'll help you think through colors, textures, layers, accessories, and how your outfits will work with your locations so everything photographs beautifully without losing your personal style.

The Things You Love

This is where senior photos get really good.

Bring the things that tell us something about you.

Sports equipment. Instruments. Cowboy boots. Your letterman jacket. Your dog. Your horse. Your vehicle. Books. Flowers. Your hunting gear. Something from 4-H or FFA. Your cap and gown.

If it's been an important part of your life, there's probably a way we can incorporate it.

These aren't just props—they're pieces of the person you were during this chapter of your life.

Senior Photos Without The Awkard

One of the biggest things I hear before sessions is some version of:

“I'm awkward in pictures.”

Good news—you don't have to arrive knowing what to do.

I'll give you direction throughout your session so you're never standing there wondering where to put your hands. We'll move around, change things up, talk, laugh, and create photographs naturally along the way.

Some images will be more intentionally posed. Others will happen somewhere in between.

Senior Photographer in Minnesota

Your senior photos can happen wherever your story takes us.

Maple Acres Photography offers senior photography throughout Minnesota, creating personalized senior portrait experiences for high school seniors who want photos that feel genuine, timeless, and completely their own.

From the open countryside and family farms of southern Minnesota to lakes, small towns, and urban locations throughout the state, we'll find a setting that complements your personality and the vision you have for your senior pictures.

And if you have somewhere meaningful in mind, tell me.

Some of my favorite sessions happen in places I never could have chosen from a location list because they're meaningful specifically to the person I'm photographing.

This is the fun part. We'll spend your session creating a mix of classic portraits, candid moments, movement, details, and everything in between. I'll guide you the entire time, so there's no pressure to know what you're doing in front of the camera.

After your session, I'll carefully edit your photographs in my timeless, true-to-life style and deliver a gallery filled with images that tell the story of this season.

BOOK YOUR SENIOR SESSION

For  The Senior Who Wants Something Different

You don't have to choose between the photos your parents will want framed on the wall and the ones you'll actually want to post.

We're getting both.

The smiling-at-the-camera portrait.
The windswept one in the field.
The photo with your dog that your mom is going to cry over.
The one that feels straight out of a magazine.
The completely unplanned image that somehow becomes your favorite.
Your senior gallery should have range because you have range.

It's best to book your senior photography session as early as possible, especially if you want a summer or fall date. These are some of the most popular seasons for senior pictures in Minnesota, and availability can fill quickly.

You don't need to have your outfits or locations figured out before booking—we'll work on those details afterward.

When Should I Book My Senior Photos?

There really isn't one “best” season. Summer gives us warm evenings, green fields and wildflowers, while fall brings beautiful colors and cooler temperatures. Your ideal season depends on the look you want for your senior portraits.

What Time of Year is Best for Senior Photos?

Yes! Multiple outfits are a great way to add variety to your senior pictures. Depending on your session package, we can plan different looks that range from casual to dressy and coordinate them with your locations.

Can I Have Multiple Outfits?

Depending on your session and the distance between locations, absolutely. Multiple locations can give your senior gallery even more variety.

Can We Use More Than One Locatoin?

Please do.

Pets and animals are part of your story, and I love finding ways to incorporate them into senior sessions when they're important to you.

Can I Bring My Dog, Horse, or any Other Pet?

Absolutely. Your senior photos should represent more than what you look like. Sports, FFA, 4-H, music, dance, vehicles, hobbies and other interests can all be incorporated into your session.

Can I Incorporate Sports, Hobbies, or Other Activities?

You are not the first person to feel this way, and we'll make sure that you feel comfortable and like your best self in front of the camera!

You don't need any modeling experience or posing knowledge. I'll guide you throughout your session and give you prompts and direction so we can create photographs that feel natural rather than stiff.

What if I'm Awkward in Front of the Camera?

What if I'm awkward in front of the camera?

Yes! Maple Acres Photography photographs senior sessions throughout Minnesota. If you have a particular Minnesota location in mind, include it when you inquire and we can talk through the possibilities.

YOUR SENIOR YEAR ONLY HAPPENS ONCE

Let's make the photos feel like it.

This chapter is full of lasts and firsts—the last football game, the last first day of school, graduation, college decisions, changing friendships, big plans, and that strange space between the person you've been and whoever you're becoming next.

Someday, these photos won't just be your senior pictures.

They'll be a reminder of who you were right here.
